These kind of vases with narrow neck and tulip top are 
amongst Amphora's most remarkable ceramics.
In combination with this 'brutalist' bronze glaze it almost can't get any better...

Perignem: Chrome Red Vase. ca 1958



Many of the early vases were not signed, but this vase recently was
reunited with Liesbeth Vandeweghe, at which time 
she confirmed it's authenticity and signed it on the reverse.
Stunning shape with chrome red glaze.

Burn Baby, Burn.... Amphora Copper Reduction 1964



During the early 1960's Rogier Vandeweghe was experimenting a lot with forms and glazes.
This copper reduction glaze is a typical result from those inspiring experiments...
In 1964 Rogier won  the Golden Medal 
in the International Ceramic Competition in Faenza with a copper reduction vase similar to the one above.
The simple curves and the "burned" surface work perfectly together...
Perfect condition, signed twice.
